The TSX was brought onboard in 2004 to fill the gap as Acura’s entry-level luxury sedan. The 2nd gen TSX was a derivative of the Japanese and European versions of the 8th gen Honda Accord that featured a compact size yet sporty look. This 2010 Acura TSX included a 3.5L V6 engine option for smoother and quicker acceleration without having to rev out the engine. It was fitted with a J35Z6 engine that, like others from the J-family of engines, allowed for better fuel efficiency during specific driving conditions by disabling one bank of cylinders.
What did we bring to the table?
Taking a dive into the market, we found that intake systems for the 2010-2014 Acura TSX 3.5L V6 were hard to come by. Knowing that, we had to bring one into the shop to start development on. We tested different intake configurations and learned that 3” tubing gave us the best drivability and results on the dyno. We then used our 3D scanner to map out the engine bay and design an intake system that is most effective. We utilized mandrel bent aluminum tubing in place of the restrictive rubber stock tube to create our final product. We also created a custom bent heat shield to efficiently keep IAT’s at bay. The new open element air filter accentuates the induction sound of the 3.5L V6. Dyno testing proved an increase of 9.5 horsepower and 9 lb-ft. of torque. During road tests, throttle response and acceleration were noticeably improved.
Our HPS Performance Intake Kit for this vehicle is a great upgrade that helps maximize power output while giving the engine a more audible roar during acceleration. Experience the difference and drive your TSX apart from all the others with our easy to install kit. Included with a step-by-step guide, this product takes approximately 30 minutes to complete with a 1/5 rating in installation difficulty and basic mechanical skill.
