Why our heater hoses don't fit [some] RHD vehicles

February 10, 2022 1 min read

HPS Performance's operations is based out of Irwindale, California in the United States of America. Whether it be our intake systems, intercooler pipe kits, coolant hoses, or our universal products, the majority of are shipped to customers within the country. That is not to say that our products are not shipped worldwide, rather our global presence is slowly increasing.

According to a 2018 article by Business Insider, about 30% of the world's vehicles are RHD (right hand drive). Although many of our vehicle specific products are compatible with their RHD counterparts, we recommend customers to check with us first.

Every vehicle is designed differently so in order to distinguish whether our kits will work on the RHD version of the vehicle, we have to look at the location of the heater core inlet/outlet on the firewall at the very least. Heater cores are for the most part installed underneath the dashboard and positioned wherever it fits best, with the inlet/outlet located wherever it is least likely to interfere with the engine.

On some vehicles, the radiator hoses may differ as well due to the vehicle's steering being on the opposite side. For this reason, all of our coolant hose kits should be treated as LHD fitment ONLY unless otherwise stated in the product's description.

Because HPS's focus is primarily for US market vehicles, we recommend that any customer in the market for Silicone Hose Kits whose vehicles are RHD to contact us at tech@hpsperformanceproducts.com and provide a photo of their engine bay before making their purchase. This way, we can feel confident that you are receiving a product that will install as intended.
