Coming Soon: Refresh Your First-Gen RDX

Owners of the first-generation Acura RDX (2007–2012) know that while the K23A1 turbo engine is a gem, the aging rubber components under the hood are starting to show their years. HPS recently brought this vehicle into the shop and engineered a new performance air intake kit, designed specifically to cater to the 2.3L Turbo platform.

For many 1st Gen RDX owners, the factory air intake hose is a notorious failure point. Over time, the stock rubber degrades from heat cycling, leading to cracks that cause vacuum leaks, rough idling, and check engine lights. This HPS 827 Series kit isn't just a performance part; it’s a durable upgrade that rids the restrictive and prone-to-failure factory components to add a high-flow system that will last the life of the vehicle.

We didn't only build a replacement; we also delivered measurable gains. The dyno data for our 2008 test vehicle confirmed performance increases where it counts. These improvements are most significant at the top end of the rev range, helping the RDX pull harder toward the redline without sacrificing low-end drivability.

With better performance and the elimination of the fragile stock rubber hose, this kit offers a "two-birds-one-stone" solution. The reliability of a high-quality aftermarket intake system alongside a noticeable bump in power and induction sound makes this kit a smart investment for anyone keeping their 1st Gen RDX on the road.
