The debut of the C7 made its mark in the Corvette family with a distinctive design while still featuring traces of the Corvette legacy. Under the hood, this iconic American sports car was made to dominate the road with an all-new 6.2L V8 engine. Equipped with a powerful engine, excessive heat from performance driving can become a problem for stock coolant lines.
Cooling Issues
Both high ambient temperatures and excessive engine heat contribute to the damage, and ultimately, failure of stock rubber hoses. These hoses dry out and harden over time, developing cracks that allow for coolant to leak and cause your engine to overheat. When the cooling system breaks down, your C7 can develop some serious problems.
The 2015-2018 Z06 models were issued extended warranties from Chevrolet due to overheating issues and replaced the recalled parts with an updated radiator package. This recall noted that when driven at sustained high speeds in high ambient temperatures, the vehicle may overheat and enter a reduced power mode.
Long-Term Solution
Even with the new radiator package installed for the Z06 models, the Corvette C7 is still not entirely safe from the dangers of failed rubber stock hoses. Our development team recognized the importance of a well rounded cooling system and worked to create a premium silicone radiator hose kit that is strong enough for the job.
We used 3D scans of the stock hoses and mapped out the geometry of the new hose kit to best fit the C7. The resulting radiator hose kit features a total of ten unique bends and utilizes 3-ply reinforced silicone that can withstand prolonged exposure to engine bay heat and under hood temps up to 350F.
Whether you drive your Corvette on the streets or on the track, our HPS Silicone Radiator Coolant Hose Kit is the perfect upgrade for your Corvette C7 to ensure that it can withstand blistering conditions for years to come.
