Long Lasting Ford 6.0L Diesel Turbo Coolant Hoses For the Long Haul 57-2119 & 57-2120

April 11, 2022 2 min read

Introduced in the 2nd quarter of 2003 as a result of stricter emissions regulations, the Ford 6.0L PowerStroke series of heavy duty diesel vehicles developed a bad reputation for having various engine problems. The TTY head studs, injection control, oil cooler, EGR cooler, turbocharger, HEUI, and oil pump are some of the most common failure points with the 6.0L engines.

For those who drive their trucks within the tested limits, issues may not be as quick to occur. However, the majority of owners use these trucks as a means to tow other machinery and complete heavy duty tasks. This is where engine failure becomes a real risk if proper maintenance is not a priority. Many of the common problems noted above lead to the engine overheating and compromising other vital components in the engine bay.

Heavy Hauling Turns Hot
Tackling large-scale projects require the engine to exert more power and, consequently, create higher temperatures under the hood. As a result of repeated use over time, the rubber stock coolant hoses in these vehicles can dry, harden and crack. As a part of “bulletproofing” your Ford 6.0L, hose replacements are vital to the operation. We got to work and engineered two hose kit upgrades. Our 57-2119 kit takes care of the coolant tank supply hoses while our 57-2120 kit replaces the heater hoses. Made with 3-ply reinforced high temperature resistant silicone, these hoses have no problem holding up against heat emitted from the engine during peak performance (max. temperature 350F). These premium hoses retain their integrity over time and ensure the proper transfer of coolant from point a to point b without leaks.

Bulletproofing the 6.0L
Because the Ford Super Duty 6.0L Powerstroke Diesel trucks have their flaws, “bulletproofing” has been the series of necessary improvements of trouble spots to bring out the reliability of these powerful vehicles. Once the repairs are performed and routine maintenance is kept up, these trucks are better equipped to consistently complete long hauls and heavy work. No matter how far along you are with improvements, it’s imperative to safeguard your vehicle’s coolant flow with durable coolant hoses. Our HPS Silicone Coolant Tank Supply Hose and HPS Silicone Heater Coolant Hose kits are now available for purchase by clicking the links at the end of this article.
